What should I bring?
Medical certificate for seafarers - ensure your competence at sea
Working at sea requires a valid medical certificate issued in accordance with the requirements of the Swedish Transport Agency, also known as the STCW Manila Certificate. Our seafarers are registered with the Swedish Transport Agency and we carry out more than 2000 medical assessments each year for seafarers in all trade areas - inland, restricted, unrestricted.
When do you need a medical certificate?
Everyone who works on a boat generally needs a medical certificate, whether you are a captain or work in the restaurant
The examination covers vision, hearing and general health.
If you wish or your employer requires further examinations or tests, we are happy to help you with that too. Contact us via : info@medicinskaintyg.se
Before the visit
Please include the following:
International Certificates, Cruise Lines and ENG-1
Please note that there may be additional costs for additional examinations, sampling or X-rays. Many international shipping companies have their own documentation to be provided, we perform these routinely. Please email us in advance as it may require a longer medical visit.
ENG-1 is the British equivalent of the Swedish Transport Agency's Maritime Medical Certificate. This is often requested if you are applying for a job abroad. Swedish maritime medical certificates issued by the Swedish Transport Agency are equivalent to ENG-1 and listed as approved by the UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MSN 1815 Amendment 6, Equivalent medical certificates).
The medical certificate
The certificate is registered by us digitally via the Maritime Medical Web directly with the Swedish Transport Agency. You will receive an original to bring on board during service.
